I will never ever get tired of watching sunsets at the beach.
When I first visited this amazing place, I instantly fell in love with it. Its gorgeous beach and amazing sunsets are just perfect for that truly relaxing beach holiday.
The fact that it is secluded and far from the chaos of the town, it is perfect for just chilling all day enjoying the sun, the sand, and an amazing sunset to end the day. Lying on the soft sand with a gentle sound of the waves while watching the sun sets on the horizon is comparable to lying on a massage table covered in lavender massage oil.
Before I left during my first visit, I told myself that I will definitely come back, and I did, and I did again… and now, I’m practically living in one of the best islands in the world!
Five years ago, before I decided to move to the province of Cebu for work, I was already planning on visiting one of Cebu’s best beaches, the famous Bantayan Island. So, when I got the job offer in Cebu, I thought it was going to be awesome, I could go and explore the best beaches in Cebu on any given weekend. Well, to make the long story short, it didn’t happen…. work schedule was really hectic, Saturdays are regular days at work.
It was only last November when I finally got to visit Bantayan Island. I think maybe this is because I was already leaving my job and thinking of settling down again in Manila. So, about less than a month before I left, I sort of forced myself to finally do it before I regret it.
The nearly 6 hours travel time from Cebu city to Bantayan Island (including waiting time at the port) was really worth it. The beach was gorgeous. The fine white sand, the clear water, and the laid-back life on the island are the best ingredients when you are looking for a place of solitude. Early morning walks at the beach to catch a glimpse of sunrise was amazing. The days spent swimming, lounging at beach, walking along the shore, massage at the beach with fresh coconut juice, and simply sitting quietly and staring at the sea were precious ones… all I ever wanted after the stressful weeks during my last month at work.
I fell in love with the island and I’m definitely going back in the near future.
When things get tough and when there’s a need to de-stress and think things over, the beach is definitely one of the best destinations. The combination of a beautiful sunset and a little bit of waves is just perfect.
Sunsets are truly magical!
The sun left a magical moment as it slowly disappeared into the horizon.
Sometimes, sunset is also a moment of solitude.
Enjoying a cup of freshly brewed coffee with this scenery is enough to start a great day.
